Attacks on Mumbai

I am deeply sorry for the families of those who lost their loved ones in terror attacks in Mumbai during the last three days. It was certainly not the fault of those who died that they were at that place at that time when that happened.

This is also true for all the victims of other terror attacks in the past. So whose fault is it really that every now and then something like this happens, claiming so many innocent and unsuspecting lives? Should we blame the terrorists themselves? Should we blame our neighbour? Should we blame our politicians and bureaucrats? Should we blame the system? Should we blame ourselves? Should we blame anyone else? Have we not blamed everyone enough already? Have we ever improved anything through blame in the past? We can argue endlessly about this.

What we really need is Concerted Action. Action that tackles not just the symptom of terrorism but also cures the root cause. However there are multiple root causes to this problem. Anyone who takes up arms to kill others so mercilessly, others who he does not even know, must be crazy by standard definition of craziness (http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/craziness). This craziness must be cured. We need to understand and realise what drives such men and women. Only then we might even get close to contribute towards solving the problem.
